Frequently Asked Questions

Membership

  • Glue Club is a membership-based leadership development program designed to help you be better – and feel better – at work.

  • Molly is probably best known for coining the term “Give Away Your Legos” to talk about what it’s like to work inside rapidly scaling companies. Over the past two decades working in tech, she has been the COO/head of operations for multiple organizations including the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), a philanthropy founded by Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan; Quip, a start-up founded by Bret Taylor that sold to Salesforce for $750m; and Lambda School. She also served as a board member, advisor, or interim exec at a wide variety of startups in fintech, climate, education, healthcare, and Web3.

She started her tech career with five years at Facebook in a range of roles doing things like developing Facebook's long-term mobile strategy to building a lot of its early People philosophy and systems (and a hot second at Google before that).

Glue Club Members will learn directly from Molly Graham as she shares the most impactful learnings from her own experience as a startup leader and executive. She'll share key organizational and leadership concepts critical to helping startups and small companies scale successfully. She also brings her wide network of friends, former colleagues, and mentors in to talk about their experiences.

  • As a new member, you join our Foundations program.

The Foundations program kicks off with a 4-week intensive introductory experience:

    • 4 Lessons with Molly

    • 4 Peer Circles

    • 1 guest speaker event

After the first four weeks the programming is spread out over the remaining 5 months:

    • Monthly expert-led or topic-based events

    • Monthly peer circles, called Homerooms, following our leadership development curriculum

    • Monthly 1:1 member chats

    • 1 Check-in with a Glue Team Guide

Throughout the entire 6-months you’ll have access to our library of proven startup resources and the Glue Club Slack Community. You’ll be invited to our occasional in-person events in San Francisco & New York (at an additional cost, space limited).

  • Glue Club members are leaders inside of startups and fast-growing companies. They typically have a minimum of 10+ years of experience under their belt. Strong Glue Club candidates might have a range of titles from Director/Head of to C-level, but most importantly, they are strategic leaders and decision-makers at their organizations, typically owning 2 or more functional areas and overseeing a multi-layered team.

  • Applicants will hear back from someone on our team within 2-3 weeks of submitting their application.

If we don’t believe you are a good match for the group right now, we’ll do our best to let you know as soon as possible and give you ideas of some other resources that might be a better fit.

  • Yep! Everyone’s journey with the Glue Club begins with our Foundations Program.

  • See our next cohort date listed here.

If you’d like to be notified about future new member cohort dates, fill out this form.

  • The Foundations Program is most valuable to those who are actively working in-house at a startup or scaling company. That said, if you are between roles but strongly identify as a Glue Person and meet the membership criteria, we’d encourage you to apply and share information about your current situation in your application.

  • Yes! As a Glue Club member, you will be invited to our in-person gatherings.* In 2025, these will include:

    • A dinner series (with dinners held in cities where we have a critical mass of members), where we’ll have the opportunity to learn from outside experts and connect with each other

    • A “camp” style retreat focused on connections, reflection, rest and fun

    • Our annual Glue Club Gathering, which will again be a mix of professional development and connection

*All in-person events hosted by Glue Club will be an additional cost.

  • We’d recommend sharing these items with them: (this website), Molly’s LinkedIn, Molly’s Substack “Lessons”, Molly’s “Give Away Your Legos”, and this HBS article on the Power of Peer Coaching.

  • On your renewal date, you’ll have the opportunity to continue your active leadership development journey in our Momentum Program. For those that wish to maintain access to the Glue Club community, you can renew into our Community membership.

  • Payment is collected as a one-time upfront payment, due before your New Member Cohort begins.

If you are a Recurring Member, your payment can be made at anytime, and you will be included in the next onboarding.

  • No, membership does not auto-renew. At the end of your 6 month membership period, you’ll have the option to renew into our active Memberships.

Foundations Program FAQs

  • Foundations starts with a 4-week Workshop on essential company-building topics, such as goal-setting, organizational design, and decision-making. Each week includes a live lesson from Molly Graham, followed by a Peer Circle where participants address real-time challenges. Every week is designed to cover a key leadership skill that can be immediately applied to drive impact at your company. See an example calendar of the first four weeks.

After the first four weeks, you will be paired with a Glue Team Guide to provide 1:1 support in shaping your growth path and with a circle of peers to learn from and lean on. Over the course of the remaining 5 months, you’ll continue to learn from expert speakers, meet monthly with your peer circle, connect with other Glue Club members 1:1, and have access to our Slack community and library of resources. See an example calendar of the continuing 5 months.

  • The cost of the 6-month Foundations Program is $3,250

  • Each week features a live Lesson from Molly Graham and a Peer Circle to problem-solve your active challenges.

    See an example calendar here.

  • The first 4 weeks of the Foundations program cover the following topics in week-long cycles:

    1. Vision and Goals

    2. Culture, Communication and Decision Making

    3. Managing Up, Down and Sideways

    4. Organizational Design and Hiring

  • Learn directly from Molly Graham as she shares the most impactful learnings from her own experience as a startup leader and executive.

Each Lessons with Molly focuses on 1 of the topics listed in the question above. All members of the Foundations Cohort join each Lessons with Molly together, and everyone will have a chance to engage in Q&A at the end of each Lessons session.

  • Peer Circles are small group of peers from your cohort at similar-stage companies. Together you will discuss your most pressing challenges, supported by a facilitator, for 60 minutes.

In the first four weeks, you’ll have an opportunity to dive deeper into challenges related to each cycle topic.

For the remaining 5 sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to problem-solve active challenges, and reflect on who you are and outline what you want at work.

  • Each Circle will include people going through a similar range of experiences, but with diverse perspectives. The Circles are organized around people who are going through similar experiences and work at companies of a similar size, stage and role. We also have to take availability into consideration so some circles may have a broader range in them in order to accommodate people’s schedules.

  • You’ll have the opportunity to indicate which Circle times best fit your schedule on the application. We do our best to balance accommodating your schedule.

  • We offer 3 peer circle times for each cohort. Within those circles, we break out into groups of 8-12.

  • We ask that before committing to the program you double-check your schedule and ensure you can attend at least 90% of the sessions in the first 4 weeks.

Circle attendance is particularly important, as you’ll be connecting and building relationships with the people in your group, and lack of attendance will not only negatively impact your experience, but the overall experience of your Circle. Because we know unexpected things will undoubtedly come up, we allow one “Circle makeup session”, meaning if you can’t make your assigned Circle time, you’ll be able to choose to attend another Circle time that week.

  • Lessons with Molly will be recorded, and those recordings are shared each week for those who want to revisit the content. Circles will never be recorded due to our confidentiality norms.

  • After the first four weeks the programming is spread out over the remaining 5 months:

    • Monthly expert-led or topic-based events

    • Monthly peer circles, called Homerooms, following our leadership development curriculum

    • Monthly 1:1 member chats

    • 1 Check-in with a Glue Team Guide

    See an example calendar here.

  • We will communicate primarily over Slack, and will limit emails to important updates or program information. You’ll receive an invite to our Slack community ahead of our first session.

  • At the end of the 6-month Foundations Program, you’ll have the option to renew into our active membership options.

  • Feel free to email hello@glueclub.com.
